Old Quito presents the Spanish Colonial Style
going all the way back to the 16th Century.
The Spanish always built Catholic Churches and
made every effort to convert the Indians.
No doubt some of the Inca gold taken by the Spanish
ended up creating the gilded interior of this church.
Another example of the Spanish style in Old Quito.
