Kootenay National Park
The Kootenay River is in a valley, surrounded by the
Park's imposing mountains.
I was continuously looking for Big Horn Sheep, which I
had never seen in the wild.  Just outside the park
boundaries, I felt very lucky to find this one female.
A small group of females with their lambs emerged, all
hanging out in the town of Radium Hot Springs, which
borders on Kootenay National Park.  There was mutual
curiosity between myself and the Big Horn Sheep.
No males here or anywhere else where I could
photograph them.  It's the males who have the large
curved horns most identified with Big Horn Sheep.
