Chiapas, Mexico
Tonina appears unique among Mayan cities states because it was
carved out of a hillside.  There are seven platforms to the very
top of Tonina, one of the Mayan world's largest structures.  Also
very powerful, as Tonina even defeated Palenque.
Moving in a little closer you can see the acropolis, Tonina's
summit, on the right side of this picture.
Here is the acropolis, and people with strong hiking skills can
climb to the very top.
Still closer and more of the Tonina acropolis is revealed.
That is exactly what a large group of religious people from
Russia and Poland were able to accomplish.
