The City of Yazd
Yazd is famous for its ancient wind  towers
that catch a cooling breeze.
Sun-dried mud bricks were the traditional
building materials in Yazd.
Yazd's Friday Mosque has two built-in minarets, a
common architectural style in Iran.  This is the
nation's best preserved 14th century mosque.
Outside Yazd the ancient Saryazd Citadel
served as a treasury.  A World Heritage Site.
