Bonampak looks like a fairly normal Mayan site, except for
the glories of its well-preserved murals, which show the Maya
dancing as musicians play. Nothing else like it has survived.
The colors are vivid, and this is the first time I ever saw
the Maya as they painted themselves, having a grand
time dancing to the music.
This wide angle of seven Maya was the largest group I
could photograph of entertainment from well over a
thousand years ago. Had to add music, both for the video
and this page of stills.
