Shwedagon Pagoda
Yangon/Rangoon, Burma
The towering giant gold stupa of Shwedagon Paya
marks the holiest Buddhist site in Burma, most
sacred world-wide.  Swedagon goes back perhaps
2,600 years, to the start of Buddhism.
Buddhist statues surround the central stupa, this
one also in gold.
Chan-Thar-Gyi, the largest Buddha statue here.
Multiple Buddha images presented
together are a feature of Shwedagon.
A pair of monks and Buddha statues.
The central stupa is brilliantly lit at night.
