Alligator wrestling was a presentation at the Miccosukee
Indian Village bordering the Everglades. I take no position on
such a display. Since this 1992 trip, perhaps the Miccosukee
have switched to casinos. In any case, the action can best be
appreciated on my video. The picture above demonstrates
initial control over the gator by holding its jaws shut.
Holding the gator's jaws open must increase the risk factor.
The gator lost this bout and seemed used to being
handled in such a manner. Of course the gator
only needs one victory to win the championship.
